Bandmaster – Sue Hughes

Sue Hughes is the Band Trainer. She has been in charge of the band’s learners since 2011 starting with a small junior band of 4 young people. Over the last 7 years this has developed into a beginner band for members who’ve never played before, a training band for members who are in their first years of learning and a development band where the more experienced learners play alongside senior band members before they make the move to the senior band. Over these 3 bands there are now approximately 50 members, adults and young people from the age of 7+ learning together.

Sue has a degree in music from the University of Wales, Bangor and has previously conducted the junior and intermediate bands of both the Menai Bridge Band and the Dyffryn Nantlle Band as well as the Dyffryn Nantlle senior band.
