Andrew Jones has stepped down from the helm at Llandudno Band after driving their community engagement for nine years. Llandudno Town Band had paid a heartfelt tribute to Musical Director Andrew Jones after he announced that he would be stepping down from the role after nine years at the helm. Although not a regular contesting ensemble, the band has been a highly respected hub of musical activity within its community for over 100 years. Andrew has enhanced that role, working tirelessly in leading the band through it busy summer season of engagements when the Welsh resort welcomes thousands of visitors.
Welcome
In 1910 when Llandudno was regarded as the most fashionable seaside resort in Wales, the Urban District Council asked the local St. Tudno Silver Band to provide entertainment for the many visitors to the town in return for financial assistance (renaming it ‘Llandudno Town Band’).
Over a century later we continue the tradition of performing during the summer months on the promenade bandstand and throughout the year, with services to the Town Council, to charities, the local community and for private functions.

Yn 1910 pan oedd Llandudo yn cael ei ystyriwyd fel y gyrchfan glan y môr mwyaf fasiynol yng Nghymru, fe wnaeth y cyngor lleol gofyn i’r band pres ‘St Tudno Silver Band’ i darparu adloniant i y llu o ymelwyr i’r dref am gyfnewid i cymorth ariannol (yn ei ail enwi ‘Llandudno Town Band’).
Dros ganrif yn diweddarach rydym yn barhau gyda’r traddodiad o berfformio yn ystod misoedd yr Hâf ar bandstand y promenade a drwy’r blwyddyn, gyda gwasanaethau i’r cyngor dref, elusennau, y cymdeithas lleol a digwyddiadau priefat.
