A busy start to summer 2025!

The band’s 2025 summer season is now in full swing.

Llandudno Town Band has to be one of the busiest bands in the country, performing two concerts a week every week from the Late May Bank Holiday weekend right through until the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The band has enjoyed an extra busy start to the 2025 season with additional performances celebrating the VE Day (Victory in Europe) 80th Anniversary.

The band supported the VE Day beacon lighting on Thursday 8th May on the bandstand. The event was well attended with a number of other performances including recitals from local Cadet forces, singers, and displays from vintage military and civilian vehicles. The band played a mixture of music from the era (and slightly more modern tunes) to get everyone in a celebratory mood.

On Saturday 10th May, the band supported the annual VE Day Remembrance Parade. The band played the march ‘Heart of Oak’ whilst the procession made their way down the North Shore promenade to the town’s cenotaph. The band then played hymns as wreaths were laid, and our flugel player Ruth played the Last Post and Rouse so the congregation could observe a two minute silence.

What’s next?

The band’s summer concert season kicked off on Sunday 25th May, in warm but very windy conditions. The band played an eclectic mix of well-known brass band anthems and other popular tunes from through the decades, whilst the audience observed from deckchairs, benches (and hotel windows!).

Weather permitting, the Town Band plays every Sunday and Monday on the town’s bandstand from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, throughout the summer.

The concerts are (as always) completely free of charge to watch, and we also provide deckchairs to sit on free of charge. We do gratefully accept donations and these allow us to keep supporting important events like the VE Day celebrations each year.

We hope you’ll come and join us!
