Band resumes rehearsals after a busy bandstand season

After a 14 week break from rehearsals, Llandudno Town Band is back in the band room!

Unlike most bands who take a short summer recess during the school holiday period, the summer months are the busiest time of year for Llandudno. Performing twice a week, every week between the Late May bank holiday weekend and the August bank holiday weekend is no small undertaking.

This year was one of the busiest seasons on record. The long, dry and warm summer meant that the town was absolutely packed out with visitors and the band only missed a total of 4 performances due to wet weather. FYI: the average is between 8-10 missed concerts, hooray for the good old British summer!

The band had additional pressure this year having opted to compete in the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol, which is one of Europe’s biggest festivals: celebrating the Welsh language, Welsh music and Welsh culture.

After a well deserved week of during the first week of September, the band has now resumed rehearsals, ahead of the next-busiest time of year (Christmas!).

The band rehearses from 7.30pm to 9.30pm every Monday evening in the old Tabernacl, Mostyn Street.

If you play an instrument (or would like to learn) and you’re thinking about joining the band, please do get in touch! Drop an email to email@lltb.co.uk and we’ll take it from there.
